Full Hearts | Fixing Heartbreak

Heartbreak frequently leads to one closing up. To them losing their innocence, their childlikeness. This loss of innocence is perhaps one of the greater losses. And it’s perhaps the reason one can’t trust, or love, as deeply as they once have.

You don’t recover from heartbreak until you recover the portions of your innocence lost to it. You can wait for it—the absence of these portions—to make itself known to you, or you can become attentive to all that it’s doing to you. You can hope for someone to recover these portions for you, for someone to repair your broken innocence. Or, you can proceed to recognize and demolish, or step around and past, the barriers built inside you to the reappearance of these absconding portions. To their reentrance into your character and life. ~ Mickey Kumra
